Industry heavyweights such as Amazon, eBay, Facebook, Google, Sony, and Twitter have joined to commit their support to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) stance on net neutrality.
In a letter to the FCC, signed by big names together to express how important they are, the economy and the innovation that the Internet remains open, as was done in the past.
This view is contrary to how some Internet providers of the Internet is directed forwards.
"The Internet opens a fuel-efficient and highly competitive market, where consumers make a choice about what products are successful and which does not allow. These businesses of all sizes to compete from the smallest startup to large companies, to produce maximum economic growth and development opportunities" said the letter.
The letter continued: "U.S. leadership in the technology space has been due, primarily, an open Internet. We commend your leadership in initiating a process leading to legislation to ensure that the qualities that have made the Internet such a success is protected, develop. "
Other signatories were an expression of their support for Cbeyond, Craigslist, Digg, Echostar Corporation, Expedia, Flickr, IAC, LinkedIn, Meetup, Mozilla, OpenDNS, Skype, Tivo, Vuze, XO Communications, YouTube, and Zynga.
