Previously, Mergard had worked as vice president and chief engineer at AMD microchip manufacturers for 16 years. During work on AMD processors Mergard been overseeing the development of “Brazos” designed for low-end portable computers.
Mergard move is the latest of a series of similar steps involving employees of major companies in the IT field.
Early August, AMD hired former Apple chip architect Jim Keller to serve as vice president and chief architect. The previous month, AMD chip designer John Bruno moved to Apple. Apple is involved in a multibillion dollar business cooperation for the use of technology products on the samsung devices.
In addition to the display and memory, Apple also uses a Samsung-made processors, including the A6 used in the iPhone 5 and is mentioned as one of the leading features of the smartphone. Apple made the design of the processor while Samsung handles the production process.
